Task: Data Analysis At Project Level
The purpose of this task is to analyze the collected data / metrics and perform root cause analysis on identified defects.

Main Description

Trend analysis on the metrics shall be performed and shared with relevant stakeholders at various forums (phase end, M review, BU report, project closure etc.) QA, Engagement Manager and other designated members who participate in different forums should do causal analysis of the data at the project level. The causal analysis can be done as:

 

    • Collect details of defects and variance figures (example: Schedule or Effort Variance) relevant to last development phase.
    • Collect feedback on existing quality process and description of need for changes in quality process. (This may not be applicable at project level Causal Analysis but only to SEPG/Sr. management).
    • Identify the root cause for number of a defect identified or non-conformance to the variance figure(s) (example, Schedule or Effort Variance). This activity should be performed with involvement of key team members identified as leads and managers as per project team organization.
    • Identify the phase in which problem was injected and when it was detected.
    • Identify the areas/instances in forthcoming activities where the some/all of the analyzed problems may still be applicable, hence work out the preventive action plan and mitigation to overcome the possible future issues.
    • Revisit the Preventive action plan in next review.  

The Metrics report shall be shared with projects and submitted to Metrics Group.QA shall update the Q-C-D status on weekly basis. Also, any change in Project performance (Event driven) will trigger the change in Q-C-D status (If required).
